Possibilities of implementing Competitive Intelligence in an agricultural company.
Hodovský, Michal ; Rompotl, Jaroslav (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is the application of a Competitive Intelli-gence in an agricultural company, which will enable the company’s manage-ment to find out information about the competitors and at the same time protect our own information from them. This gives our company a competi-tive advantage. In the first part of this thesis I will describe the situation of the company, after which I get to define the problem that will be solved. In the second part I deal with theoretical preparation necessary to create a Com-petitive Intelligence unit. The third part is devoted to creation of the possibili-ties that our company will have. The result of these possibilities is functioning Competitive Intelligence system. In the end, I will summarize the possible solutions and recommend one of them to the company.
Competitive Intelligence System Design at Selected Company

The diploma thesis is focused on the process of introducing Competitive Intelligence into a selected company. The purpose of this thesis is to propose a way that would help the company with orientation in a competitive environment and thus improve its position in the market. The knowledge from the theoretical and analytical part is used as starting points for the actual design of the Competitive Intelligence process and for determining the best method of analysis of the most important competitor.
Design of the Competitive Intelligence system
Filippov, Andrii ; Sadel, Juraj (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The diploma work is focused on the process of implementing Competitive Intelligence in Espressif Systems company. The goal of this work is to propose a method that will help the company navigate the competitive environment and thereby improve its position in the market. Knowledge from the theoretical and analytical parts is used as a starting point for designing the Competitive Intelligence process and for determining the correct method of analyzing the most significant competitor.
Cyber Threat Intelligence: A Proposal of a Threat Intelligence Cycle from an Enterprise Perspective
Meli Tsofou, Cedric ; Butler, Eamonn (advisor) ; Střítecký, Vít (referee) ; Fitzgerald, James (referee)
The number of cyber attacks over the last decade has been increasing sharply while being more and more targeted and sophisticated at the same time. These types of targeted and sophisticated attacks are called advanced persistent threats (APTs) and cause lots of damages to companies through data losses, injecting viruses, amongst others. While cyber threat intelligence has been recognized by experts as an efficient tool to combat APTs, its implementation has been rather slow mainly due to a lack in clarity, consensus, and little academic research as to what exactly is cyber threat intelligence from the perspective of enterprise cyber security. Therefore, there is need to provide a unifying definition of cyber threat intelligence and its creation process from enterprise perspective. Through the lens of comparative analysis, this paper aims to challenge the stability of currently existing cyber threat intelligence cycles and definitions by a thematic analysis of various cyber security white papers and academic literature. Qualitative analysis will equally permit to have an insider view of the field and forge subjective opinions and allow for ambiguity, contradiction, and the generation of new ideas.

Methods of Competitive Intelligence for chemical industrial companies
Lisová, Martina ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kocánek, Marek (referee)
The content of this thesis is the introduction of Competitive Intelligence and its methods to companies in the chemical industry. The main objective of this work is to create particular solution of Competitive Intelligence for Lovochemie, a.s., i.e. to propose competent employee who will be periodically monitor the selected information resources using Competitive Intelligence software tools. The analyses were used to achieve this objective. At first analysis of the chemical industry was conducted in the Czech Republic and also in the world and analysis of the selected company has been created. Information resources that the company should follow through Competitive Intelligence tools were selected on the basis of this information. The first part deals with the introduction of Competitive Intelligence, intelligence cycle CI, strategic analysis methods and Competitive Intelligence tools for searching and monitoring of information on the Internet. The second part is devoted to the aforementioned analysis. At first the chemical industry is analysed and the world's biggest fertilizers producers are described. This section also introduces the company called Lovochemie, a.s., its competitors, suppliers and customers. In the last part of this thesis, the information resources available to the company and selected Competitive Intelligence tools are described. Finally, the particular solution for Lovochemie is created.
Analysis of Competitive Intelligence in a medium-sized enterprise
Protivínský, Karel ; Matuštík, Ondřej (advisor) ; Sova, Martin (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on a theme of informatics, which is the Competitive Intelligence. Its aim is to apply Competitive Intelligence in medium-sized enterprise. It is necessary to define Competitive Intelligence in order to make this application possible so that the reader understands what the term represents and where it applies. The main benefit would be to demonstrate how CI works in medium-sized enterprise. This thesis consists of 4 sections. The first one is focused on the general characteristics of Competitive Intelligence (hereinafter CI). The first part of this section is the definition of the term CI, and then it deals with its history, the reason for establishing CI and its division according to certain symptoms and performance of base of CI. In the next sections, we first focus on the definition of the term Business Intelligence (hereinafter BI), which is often associated with CI. BI analysis is not the basis of this work, so this section is written briefly. Its most valuable part is the last one, where the relationship between BI and CI is broken down. In the following section, three recent trends in CI are described. In the last section we can find the characteristics of a medium-sized enterprise, as well as its business environment in which it operates and its requirements or restrictions on CI. Then I focus on applying theoretical knowledge to this enterprise.
Competitive Intelligence as source of adaptation of small and middle enterprises
Střelka, Jindřich ; Kovář, František (advisor) ; Molnár, Zdeněk (referee) ; Papík, Richard (referee)
The dissertation focuses on the implementation of CI processes in small and middle enterprises. Given the research performed, the dissertation investigates the specifics of enterprises relying on CI processes -- here mostly the perspective of firm size was used -- and further tries to describe the character of that reliance on CI processes -- whether the reliance varies across different areas (Customers, Competition, etc.) or thorough the phases (e.g. phases "Analysis of information acquired" or "Dissemination of analyzed information", etc.). The conclusions of the research confirmed that the use of CI is more widespread in large than in small enterprises. Besides analyzing the form in which enterprises most usually apply CI, several key areas in which the use of CI is permanently neglected were identified. Theoretical part accompanied by accomplished research served as a basis for construction of the system for integration of CI processes which would be most suitable for the needs of small and middle enterprises. This system was created and then tested via its integration into the information system of an organization.
Competitive Intelligence analyze of alternative energy market
Roček, Vojtěch ; Molnár, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Vejlupek, Tomáš (referee)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to analytically map part of alternative energy technology and services suppliers market in the Czech Republic based on the publicly available information. In the process, I tried to verify the division of the intelligence cycle into separate collecting and analyzing parts. To achieve this goal thirty five analytic documents were created by class 4IZ210 students in the winter semester of 2009. In these documents, the entities and the links between them were tagged using a macro developed by the Tovek company and processed in Analyst's Notebook. The result is a Topic Map containing around 2.000 entities and similar amount of links, which were adjusted and evaluated to formulate competitive intelligence conclusions. The structure of this thesis copies intelligence cycle, from the identification of the client's requirements, through data collecting to results analysis. At the end, some suggestions were made to help to increase the overall efficiency and optimize the intelligence cycle.
